In the lively neighbourhood of DHARAVI, Mumbai, Shreya Chavan has emerged as a true example of confidence, determination & women’s empowerment. Once an ordinary homemaker, Shreya decided to take charge of her future and create a path toward financial independence.
Her journey began when she joined the Shiv Janki Self-Help Group under the PSS – SAKHI Project. The project focuses on supporting women through financial assistance, training, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Through the Self-Help Group, Shreya availed a loan of ₹10,000. With this support, she took a bold step and started her own Beauty Parlour business. Instead of waiting for opportunities, Shreya created one for herself.
Today, her beauty parlour generates an income of around ₹10,000 per month. More importantly, she has also created employment opportunities for two other women, helping them become financially independent as well.
The financial support from the Self-Help Group, combined with her hard work and dedication, has completely transformed Shreya’s life. She is now confident, self-reliant, and respected within her community.
