Usha Ravindra Sadaphale is a shining example of resilience, hard work, and determination. At 38, she manages a household of three children and elderly in-laws while supporting her husband, who works at the airport. Despite these responsibilities, Usha was determined to create her own identity and become financially independent.
Usha initially worked in making flower imitation jewellery. After joining the Kalyani Entrepreneur Self-Help Group, her life began to change. With the support of the Community Resource Person (CRP), her skills in flower arrangement were strengthened, and she was encouraged to explore new income opportunities.
Recognizing her potential, the PSS Project provided Usha with training in Rakhi making and cooking skills. Inspired by this guidance, she took a bold step and started a tiffin service business alongside her jewellery work. Managing two ventures simultaneously was challenging, but Usha’s dedication and determination helped her succeed.
To expand her activities, she availed an internal group loan through her Bachat Gat, reflecting the strong spirit of mutual support promoted by the PSS Project. Regular participation in training programs improved her financial literacy, business management skills, and most importantly, her self-confidence.
Today, Usha earns a stable income from both her flower jewellery work and tiffin service. She has not only improved her family’s standard of living but has also become an inspiration to other women in her community.
Usha’s journey proves that with the right guidance, training, and community support, any woman can transform her life. Her story truly reflects the impact of the PSS Project— empowering women to dream bigger and achieve more.
“Blooms of Independence” perfectly describes Usha’s journey
a story of growth, courage, and empowerment.
